SONY have announced that their PlayStation 4 console has surpassed sales of 30.2 million units worldwide.
As of November 22, Sony has cumulatively sold through more than 30.2 million units of the PS4 system that is currently available in 124 countries and regions worldwide.
"We are sincerely grateful that gamers across the globe have continued to choose PS4 as the best place to play since launch two years ago," said Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.
"We are committed to bringing engaging games and entertainment services to users worldwide.
"Thanks to the support of our partners, PS4 continues to be the premier platform for game and interactive entertainment innovation."
Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen has already backed the PS4 and Xbox One to reach toward 50-51 million units worldwide by the end of the calendar year, combined.
Speaking during the UBS Global Technology Conference, Jorgensen commented: "Clearly, consoles have sold faster than everyone expected.
"We're ahead of the previous cycle in terms of the pace. We're on track to see, industry-wide, about 50 to 51 million units by calendar year end. And typically, most of the consoles are sold in the last quarter of the year because a lot of it is around gift-giving.
"The power of the new consoles is fantastic.
"I think software makers are just now starting to truly harness the power.
