Radamel Falcao is reportedly frustrated at lack of game time at Chelsea |
JOSE MOURINHO has warned Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao to improve amid speculation he wants to leave Stamford Bridge in January.
Falcao joined the Blues on loan from Monaco in the summer after failing to impress during a spell at Premier League rivals Manchester United last term.
The Colombia international has returned just one goal in nine outings for the Blues this season, starting in just two of those fixtures.
His lack of game time has led to speculation that he wants to return to Monaco when the transfer window reopens, but Mourinho is confident he'll stay.
The Chelsea boss insists the 29-year-old striker must surpass first-choice striker Diego Costa if he wants to play regular football.
Jose Mourinho wanrs Radamel Falcao to improve |
"First of all I don't know if it's true," Mourinho said. "I speak with him every day. It's quite strange that the press knows something that I don't, or my club know.
"He has to give us more than Diego Costa. We normally play with one striker and I always go for the performance level for the position - the best one plays."
