ARSENAL defender Nacho Monreal believes their “solidarity” in defence is behind their success this season.
The Gunners boast the joint second best record defensively with just nine goals conceded in twelve matches.
Along with Hector Bellerin, Monreal has been among the most improved players at the Emirates, keeping Kieran Gibbs out of the team for much of the season.
And the Spaniard feels Arsenal are capable of doing “something special” this season and ending what will be an 11-year wait for a Premier League title.
He told the Sun: “I think the level of the team is better now and I hope we can do something special this season.
“At the moment, everything is right so we need to carry on.
“The secret? I will say that we are playing more compact, like a unit.
“The players are playing with more solidarity, all players try to defend. I think this is the [reason for] that.
“We have won the Community Shield, we are second in the Premier League with the same points as Manchester City.”
