Manchester United target Cristiano Ronaldo makes transfer promise to Paris Saint-Germain
Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain
CRISTIANO RONALDO has promised to join Paris Saint-Germain should he leave Real Madrid next summer, according to reports.

Ronaldo is said to be unhappy and has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is interested in bringing the 30-year-old back to Old Trafford were he to become available.

But Ronaldo has apparently given his word to PSG that he will only quit Real for a move to the French giants.

"Cristiano has told those closest to him that he wants to stay at Real," a source told The Sun.

"But if for one reason or another he leaves then he will only go to PSG.

"The decision has been taken and he was in no mood to entertain any other clubs.

"He wants to live in France, he likes Laurent Blanc [PSG boss], he has a great relationship with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the club president and he knows life in Paris will simply be sensational for him."

The claims are a blow to United, who were desperate to make a marquee signing in the transfer market this summer.

The Red Devils failed with approaches for Bayern Munich ace Thomas Muller, Barcelona star Neymar and PSG hitman Edinson Cavani.

But United hero Gary Neville believes that if his old side can land a player of Ronaldo's pedigree they would win the Premier League.

"If you put two more players into Manchester United's team, say a Gareth Bale or a Cristiano Ronaldo into that team, that team could win the league," he said.
