MATS HUMMELS is ready to hand in a transfer request at Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.

The 26-year-old has been a long term target for Manchester United with Louis van Gaal being particularly keen on signing the defender in 2014.
Despite interest cooling on the potential transfer of Hummels to Old Trafford due to Chris Smalling's emergence, it seems as if this could be reignited.
After German newspaper Bild via talkSPORT report that Hummels has had a falling out with boss Thomas Tuchel, which will see him hand in a transfer request.

In light of this Dortmund have moved to deny speculation that he is unhappy at the club.
"Everybody gets criticised, " said Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.
"But honestly, that massive criticism of the last days is unreasonably high in my opinion.

"Today I read of a problematic relation between Mats and us. But that’s definitely not true.
"Mats Hummels is a very important player for us. He is our captain. I have an excellent relationship with him. Sometimes he is not too easy, but that does not have to be a disadvantage.
"He is a very decent guy, and we will support him entirely. There is nothing more to say about it."
Hummels has made 18 appearances so far this season for Dortmund who play FC Krasnodar in the Europa League tomorrow.
