MANCHESTER UNITED have under achieved against "lower opposition" since Louis van Gaal took over as manager, claims West Brom boss Tony Pulis.

That is despite Van Gaal spending over £250million since his arrival at Old Trafford in the summer of 2014, while previous manager David Moyes also spent big on players.
And Pulis expressed his surprise that United have previously struggled against the Baggies ahead of kick off.
"To be honest, a club that spends £250m really should be winning games against teams lower than them," Pulis told Sky Sports.
"If they play well and to their potential and everything is going for them it's difficult to stop them.
"For the previous two years that hasn't happened - we've got results and that's what's great about the Premier League."

Van Gaal spent over £100m in the summer on six new players, with and Memphis Depay (£25m) his two most expensive arrivals.
