Man Utd 2 - West Brom 0: Jesse Lingard's moment of magic inspires Red Devils victory
Jesse Lingard (left) celebrates his goal to the delight of Louis van Gaal
JESSE LINGARD justified his selection for a second time in a week with a delightful goal to fire Manchester United to victory over West Brom.

Youth product Lingard clipped home from the edge of the area for his first professional United goal.
Saido Berahino squandered West Brom's best chance from six yards out.
And Juan Mata wrapped up the win with a stoppage-time penalty as Gareth McAuley was sent off for bringing down Martial.

United went into the clash having lost to West Brom at home in both of their last two attempts.
They saw off CSKA Moscow 1-0 in midweek in a match where Van Gaal was booed for his substitution of Martial.
Van Gaal started with the same XI and once again their struggled to create chances versus an opponent determined to frustrate their hosts.

Indeed, former United player Jonny Evans caused a scare early on when he made David De Gea flap at a cross - the goalkeeper saved by a covering team-mate.
At the other end Martial forced a neat save out of Boaz Myhill moments before half time in a game that only lit up when Lingard found his mark.
The 22-year-old is slowly picking up appearances under Van Gaal and did his future selection chances no harm at all when he controlled a fluffed clearance at the edge of the box and neatly curled the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

United settled into a rhythm after the goal but failed to threaten Myhill again.
In fact, it was West Brom who should have nicked a point when substitute Berahino mistimed a header six yards out with the goal gaping.
And the Baggies were made to rue that miss as Mata wrapped up the points from the spot after Martial was felled when through on goal.
