Real Sociedad manager David Moyes is expected to be sacked today |
DAVID MOYES will be sacked by Real Sociedad today, according to reports.
Moyes, 52, was expected to lose his job on Sunday but a delayed flight from Manchester meant Sociedad bosses had to set back their meeting.
The Scot has overseen a disappointing start to Sociedad's Liga season which sees them sit just outside the relegation zone after 11 games.
Four defeats in five games, including Friday's 2-0 loss at relegation rivals Las Palmas, appears to have convinced club officials that Moyes' time is up, claim Spanish newspaper El Diario Vasco.
The former Everton manager joined Sociedad a year ago tomorrow and initially enjoyed good form at the club as he steered them away from the drop zone.
He had been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in April 2014 following an unsuccessful 10-month reign at Old Trafford.
And Moyes is not the only manager facing the sack as the Daily Mirror report Garry Monk's time at Swansea is drawing to a close.
Monk, like Moyes, impressed when he first took up the manager post in February 2014.
He signed a new three-year contract this summer but just one win in eight games has put pressure on chairman Huw Jenkins to act.
The 36-year-old could even be replaced by Moyes as the latter seeks an immediate return to management.
