ARSENAL will hand playmaker Mesut Ozil a new contract as a reward for his fine form this season, according to reports.
The club's record signing at £42.5million, Ozil has 10 assists in the Premier League this season, more than any other player.
His current deal is due to expire in two years but The Independent claim the Gunners are keen on extending his stay by a further two years.
The German international, 27, has recently been linked with Juventus, who are keen to add an attacking midfield player in January.
But the Gunners are hoping to fend off interest by tying him down to the club long-term.
Manager Arsene Wenger has been full of praise for one of his star players this season.
Speaking earlier in the campaign, he said: "I believe that I have said many times that a player of his calibre you want him to add to his assists,” he said.
“He is a world class player and if he adds goals to his game he will be even more respected.”
Wenger might also have to deal with interest from Manchester United in Alexis Sanchez.
The Chile international scored twice against Louis van Gaal's side in an emphatic 3-0 win at the Emirates last month.
And Van Gaal is said to be desperate to sign him as a result.
While a deal is unlikely, reports in claim he is lining up a huge offer of around £53million in January or next summer.
