UEFA have given FIFA four weeks to decide the fate of their president Michel Platini after he was suspended for 90 days in association with a "disloyal" payment from FIFA chief Sepp Blatter.
An emergency meeting of the European football's executive committee met to try to find a way through the mess after UEFA refused to appoint an interim replacement.
After discussions at UEFA HQ in Nyon, a statement was released: "We support Michel Platini's right to a due process and a fair trial and to the opportunity to clear his name."
