THEO WALCOTT revealed the Arsenal players held a meeting after their Olympiakos debacle which acted as a catalyst for the victory over Manchester United.
The Gunners went into the match against United yesterday on the back of a 3-2 defeat to the Greek champions last Tuesday.
But they responded to that setback with an emphatic performance against Louis van Gaal's side, going 3-0 up within 20 minutes.
Walcott was instrumental in Arsenal's attacking prowess and the 26-year-old said they owed under-fire boss Arsene Wenger a victory.
"That was all for the manager without a doubt," he said.
"The players spoke to each other on our own and we wanted to do this for the fans. It was the Arsenal of old, everything seemed to click.
"It sends a message to the Premier League we are here to be recognised no doubt."
