Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a return to Chelsea
CHELSEA could make a sensational swoop to bring Carlo Ancelotti back to Stamford Bridge, according to reports in Italy.
Ancelotti has been linked with the vacant manager's job at Liverpool but Gazetta dello Sportclaim he could make a return to the club he managed between 2009 and 2011.Current boss Jose Mourinho has come under pressure and has said he will leave if he feels he has lost the support of senior players.Despite being a top target for Liverpool, Ancelotti has already ruled himself out, potentially clearing a path for a return to west London.Jurgen Klopp is also in the frame for the to job at Anfield after Brendan Rodgers was sacked yesterday and reports suggest contact has been made with both potential candidates. However, Ancelotti going back to Chelsea is perhaps more likely given the affection the fans still have for the Italian. Before leaving for Paris Saint-Germain in 2011, he won the Premier League and FA Cup double in 2010.

He has also won league titles in Italy and France, as well as the Champions League with AC Milan twice and again with Real Madrid. The 56-year-old is currently on a year-long sabbatical and it is believed he wouldn't to give that up for a move to Anfield. However, an emotional reunion with his old club might just tempt him to cut it short.
