SPORTING LISBON star William Carvalho has revealed his love for Arsenal stems from his fondness of Thierry Henry.
Carvalho was consistently been linked with a move away from Sporting since breaking into the team in 2013.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid were among the clubs interested in the summer but any deal was scuppered after the 23-year-old suffered a stress fracture in his tibia playing for Portugal in the European Under-21 Championship.
But he has now returned to the team, playing against Vitoria de Guimaraes before the international break.
And the Gunners could renew their interest in the defensive midfielder after his latest comments.

He told Portuguese newspaper A Bola: "I prefer not to say, but there is a club with which I've always empathised - Arsenal.
"Because of a player who was I very fond of, in this case I wear the number of him: Thierry Henry, a player with whom I always empathised too.
"Maybe this is why I look with more attention to the Premier League."
