MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly left David De Gea out of the new club calendar over fears he was going to join Real Madrid.

 

The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu over the summer.

However, a deadline day swap deal involving Keylor Navas collapsed at the last minute.

 

And reports suggest De Gea's transfer saga meant he was overlooked for the club's calendar.

Manchester Evening News claim new signing Anthony Martial featured in the calendar shoot instead.

A source close to the player told the paper: "Marketing ran out of time. They were desperate to include de Gea but thought he might go.

"They could not risk having an ex-star on fans’ walls."
