Liverpool to open talks with Jurgen Klopp… as Carlo Ancelotti flies to London
Jurgen Klopp is on Liverpool's hitlist to replace Brendan Rodgers
LIVERPOOL will reportedly open talks with former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp this week.
 

The club's owner Fenway Sports Group are believed to have made the decision before the Merseyside derby.

And according to the BBC, Liverpool intend to open talks with Klopp this week with the German open to the idea of replacing Rodgers.
The Anfield club want a new manager in place for the trip to Tottenham on Saturday 17 October.

Former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is another option but is yet to be convinced, despite flying into London where Liverpool have an office.

"I have not had an offer from Liverpool," Ancelotti told News News Blog Sport.
FSG president Mike Gordon phoned Rodgers to inform his of the decision to dispense with his services with Reds chief executive Ian Ayre visited the Northern Irishman at his home.

In a joint FSG statement, Liverpool owner John W Henry, chairman Tom Werner and president Gordon said: "We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Brendan Rodgers for the significant contribution he has made to the club and express our gratitude for his hard work and commitment.

"All of us have experienced some wonderful moments with Brendan as manager and we are confident he will enjoy a long career in the game.
 
"Although this has been a difficult decision, we believe it provides us with the best opportunity for success on the pitch.

"Ambition and winning are at the heart of what we want to bring to Liverpool and we believe this change gives us the best opportunity to deliver it.

"The search for a new manager is underway and we hope to make an appointment in a decisive and timely manner."
