The Zeppelin Wireless connects to Android and iOS devices, using AirPlay and Spotify Connect |
BRITISH high-end audio firm Bowers and Wilkins has refreshed its iconic Zeppelin home speaker.
Bowers and Wilkins has today introduced an update to its Zeppelin speaker.
The third-generation Zeppelin sports a refined new look, better sound quality and wireless and bluetooth connectivity for both Android and Apple devices.
Bowers and Wilkins have included AirPlay, Bluetooth aptX and Spotify Connect – a dramatic improvement over the previous generation Zeppelin which only supported Apple's AirPlay.
Aside from the new connectivity options, the new Zeppelin also boasts five completely new drive units and a 6.5" subwoofer with ultra-long voice coil.
Digital Signal Processing means the new Zeppelin Wireless packs twice the power of its predecessor.
Despite the slew of changes to its internals, the home speaker system keeps the silhouette of the iconic hydrogen-filled airship from which it gets its name.
NewsNewsBlog.blogspot.com had the chance to briefly play some tracks on the Zeppelin Wireless earlier this week.
Bowers and Wilkins' latest sleek jet-black speaker fills the room with sound without breaking a sweat.

The rear of the speaker has physical music controls as well as an AUX and Ethernet cable |
Audio is crystal clear and the bass is loud and impressive, without being overpowering.
The ability to beam a playlist from your favourite iOS or Android music app is a major addition to the impressive home speaker, if a little overdue.
NewsNewsBlog.blogspot.com will deliver a full verdict on the Zeppelin Wireless in the coming weeks.
Bowers and Wilkins have also released a new smartphone app to coincide with the launch.
The B&W Control App is designed to make the set-up process as painless as possible and is available for free on iOS. It's available for free on the App Store.
Android smartphones, Mac and PC owners do not need the standalone app to set-up the speaker.
Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin Wireless goes on sale today for £499.99 in-store and online.
