Tottenham boss Pochettino offers support to Man Utd's Shaw after double leg break

TOTTENHAM manager Mauricio Pochettino has offered his support to Luke Shaw after the Manchester United defender suffered a horrific double leg break on Tuesday night.

The England international broke both his fibula and tibia as a result of a tackle by PSV Eindhoven ace Hector Moreno and has since undergone surgery in Holland.
Shaw played under Pochettino during his time at Southampton, and the now Spurs boss admits he was devastated to watch the challenge on his former star.

“I feel very sorry for him. It was a big impact on me. You know my relationship with him was close. I spoke with him this morning," Pochettino said.
“He's much better today but it's obviously difficult when you've got this type of injury. Now I just give my support and wish him a speedy recovery.

“Now it's just to think of his recovery and hope he can recover as soon as possible after his injury.
“It's always difficult. He was crying and it's normal, you can understand it after the big injury that happened yesterday, not only because of the pain but because of everything around this situation. It's a difficult moment for him.”

While Shaw was severely injured by Moreno, Pochettino insists the PSV defender was not to blame.
He said: “It's difficult because the intention of Hector Moreno was never to do this.
“This is football, there is always danger and you know this type of action will sometimes happen. It was unlucky for Luke.”
