The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is staying under the flag of CD Projekt RED |
It appears the guys behind Geralt of Riviera’s latest adventure are not ready to drop their rebel tag as of yet.
CD Projekt RED explained back in May that they wanted to continue taking risks and coming up with the most creative ideas possible, while avoiding becoming a dominating force in the gaming industry.
But that appeared to be at odds with a rumour swirling around the studio this month, pointing to the fact that CD Projekt RED could in fact be ready to sell up and join force with Electronic Arts.
When these rumours first surfaced, community manager Marcin Momot was first to tackle, telling fans that having spoken to Projekt RED Co-Founder Marcin Iwinski, he could firmly state that none of this was known to any on the team.
It was followed by a formal statement, officially denying any plans of a takeover.
"We usually don't comment on rumours but this one has become quite viral and we think it deserves to be put to bed," said co-founder Marcin Iwinski on behalf of the Board and posted to Eurogamer.
