Man United tried to sign Marco Reus |
MANCHESTER UNITED tried to include Marco Reus in the deal that saw Adnan Januzaj join Borussia Dortmund on loan, according to reports.
Januzaj moved to the German club yesterday as Louis van Gaal went on a stunning clear out.
Javier Hernandez was sold on a permanent deal, while James Wilson edged closer to a loan move to West Brom.
But United were unable to get a deal for Reus over the line.
The Germany winger has been tracked by a host of European clubs including Arsenal this summer.
United were happy to pay £50million for the 26-year-old, but the Bundesliga side stood by their £60m valuation.
That is according to ESPN, who report United snubbed the £60m and pressed ahead with their deal to sign Anthony Martial.
The 19-year-old France youth striker is expected to complete his move today and become the most expensive teenager in history.
