Pebble Time Round is the 'lightest, thinnest' and best-looking smartwatch yet

PEBBLE has announced a brand-new addition to its wearable range, the Pebble Time Round, which it claims is the world's thinnest and lightest to date.

Smartwatches have yet to take the general public by storm.
Technology giants Apple, Samsung, LG and Huawei are all hard at work trying to convince people that they need to strap a wearable computer to their wrist each morning.
Smartwatch manufacturer Pebble has launched a new product to try and tempt new smartwatch customers.

"It’s the first smartwatch that looks like a classic wristwatch and furthers our mission to create useful technology that blends into your everyday life, not the other way around," Eric Migicovsky, Pebble CEO and co-founder, tells the camera in the firm's announcement video.
“Pebble Time Round looks different from anything we’ve ever made before and is the perfect addition to our growing product lineup.
"We recognise that wearable technology can't be one-size-fits-all and are fiercely committed to offering unique choices that suit individual style and expression.”
The Pebble Time Round measures a meagre 7.5mm thin and weighs just 28grams, making it the thinnest and lightest smartwatch yet.

In fact, Pebble's latest tech timepiece looks more like a Swatch watch than a gadget wearable. And that might just be its biggest strength.
The Pebble Time Round also works like a traditional watch, thanks to the always-on e-paper colour display.
Like Amazon's hugely popular Kindle eReader range, the e-paper display can be easily read in direct sunlight, or pitch black – thanks to the LED backlight.
Pebble works with iPhone and Android smartphones, displaying notifications, controlling music, tracking your fitness and more.
There are currently more than 6,500 Pebble apps available in the store.

The watch also features a quick-charging battery – and can refill completely in a lightning-fast 30minutes.
Pebble say it only takes 15 minutes to top-up the watch with a day of battery life, perfect for when you're pushed for time.
Unfortunately the slender shape of the Pebble Time Round means that you will only get two days on a single charge, compared to the 150hours promised by other watches in the Pebble range.
Users can choose between two band sizes and three finishes (Black, Silver, or Rose Gold), and a Pebble are including a selection of leather and stainless steel bands to help Pebble Time Round suit more wrists.
Pebble Time Round is expected to go on sale later this year with a price of £229.
