Mathieu Debuchy: I wanted to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window
Mathieu Debuchy admits the thought of leaving had crossed his mind
MATHIEU DEBUCHY has revealed he considered leaving Arsenal this summer.

The defender had an injury-disrupted season, making just 11 Premier League starts which resulted in the unexpected rise of Hector Bellerin to the starting XI.
The 20-year-old stepped up to the plate and staked his claim to become the Gunners' first-choice right-back, which has continued into this season.

And Debuchy has admitted he came close to leaving the north London club after joining for £12million from Newcastle last year.
He told French newspaper L'Equipe: "It is difficult. Even if I had not played a lot last season, in my head I would return to start after my recovery.

"But, at the Community Shield against Chelsea, Wenger chose him, Bellerin - it was a surprise and a disappointment. Let's say it [leaving] crossed my mind.
"But I want to be at Arsenal and to take my place."
