Harry Kane can become a top international player by leaving Tottenham, says Rodney Marsh |
RODNEY MARSH believes Harry Kane has outgrown Tottenham and urged the England striker to leave for a "top club."
Manchester City legend Marsh claims he would love to see the 22-year-old in the north west and insists he can only further his career away from White Hart Lane.
In what appeared to be a tirade against the north London club, the ex-England attacker praised Kane as a future international star and slammed Spurs as mediocre.
"He needs to go on and become the player he can be," Marsh told talkSPORT.
"He isn’t going to become that at Spurs because Spurs have now become that mediocre, second-tier team in the Premier League."
Kane was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Manager Louis van Gaal is reported to have made discreet enquiries for the four-cap England international but Marsh would like to see his former club enter the race as well.
"He needs to be at a top club," he added.
Modric, Carrick, Bale all left Spurs to become really top successful players. Kane will be worth 100m & next....Spurs stuck in a time warp

"I would love to see him at Manchester City because I think he could score 30 goals a year for the next ten years.”
Marsh previously sparked controversy by claiming Kane was worth £100million in today's transfer market.
And he also took to Twitter to confirm his thoughts by stating Kane should join the likes of Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Michael Carrick by quitting the club.
