Michael Keane signed for Burnley after impressing on loan |
STEVE MCCLAREN is interested in signing former Manchester United centre-back Michael Keane from Championship side Burnley, according to reports.
The Newcastle boss is keen on being reunited with the 22-year-old after signing him on loan from Man United when he was manager of Derby in the 2013-14 season.
Everton are also believed to be monitoring the defender's situation at his current club Burnley, claim the Sun.
In January, Keane joined Burnley on a permanent deal after impressing on a six-month loan at the Lancashire club.
The England Under-21 international is believed to relishing an opportunity to play in the Premier League after suffering relegation with Burnley last season.

McClaren currently has plenty of options at centre-back with Fabricio Collocini, Chancel Mbemba, Steven Taylor, Jamaal Lascelles and Mike Williamson, but the Magpies boss aims to make him a target for the January transfer window - having conceded in three of their opening four Premier League games.
Keane was loaned out four times while at Man United having made just one appearance for the Red Devils - coming on as a 43rd minute substitute against Sunderland in 2014.
