Napoli open to signing Nathaniel Chalobah on a permanent deal |
The England Under-21 international joined the Serie A giants on deadline day and will remain at the club for the 2015/16 season.
The Blues were unwilling to include a clause allowing the Stadio San Paolo club to sign the 20-year-old after the loan deal.
But Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already opened the door to a transfer next summer.
Following the club's 2-2 draw with Sampdoria, he explained: "I hope he does well."
On the chance of signing him permanently, the Napoli chief added: "Chelsea didn't give us the option to buy him.
"But should he prove to be an important player during the season we will go on the offensive to keep him."
