Danny Welbeck is set for a lengthy absence following knee surgery |
NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you all the latest news from the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are planning to make a £24million bid for Juventus striker Simone Zaza in January.
That's according to The Guardian (via Sky Italia), who claim manager Arsene Wenger will move in the winter to address his striker shortage.
Zaza only joined the Serie A champions from Sassuolo this summer but could be allowed to leave in the winter window.
Wenger has just one fit out-and-out forward at the moment and is keen to bolster his attacking options beyond Olivier Giroud.
His options were further hit when the club confirmed Danny Welbeck is set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines.
The striker hasn't played since April and had surgery on his knee which could now keep him out until Christmas.

That news has further infuriated Arsenal fans who are disappointed at the club's failure to bring in a new striker this summer.
They took to Twitter in their droves to question Wenger's reluctance to dip into the transfer market and some even called for his head.
And the criticism seems to be coming from all angles at the moment, with former player Paul Merson the latest to wade in with a few choice words.
When asked for his thoughts on the lack of transfer activity, Merson refused to hold back in his response.
"It cheats the fans," he told Sky Sports.
"The fans think 'what are we coming for? We turn up every week, we pay the highest prices and what for? Top four? We might get a day out at Wembley again in the FA Cup.' Wow-wee."
