Jose Mourinho dropped from 25/1 into 16/1 to be the next Premier League manager sacked |
BOOKIES have slashed the odds on Jose Mourinho to be sacked following their 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.
Manuel Pellegrini's side delivered an early statement of intent in their bid for the title as goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho.
Mourinho was making headlines last week over his decision to leave Eva Carneiro and Jon Fearne out of his touchline medical staff.
Bookmakers PaddyPower have reduced the odds on the 'Special One' to be next out the door from 25/1 into 16/1 after a flurry of bets.
And the Portuguese boss was again the subject of controversy following his decision to sub captain John Terry - the first time he'd been subbed under Mourinho in the Premier League.
The bookies are now offering odds of 5/6 that Terry will play under 33.5 games this season.
While Chelsea are now 7/2 second favourites for the title after their slow start to the season.
A PaddyPower spokesman said: “Chelsea have started slower than my nan’s Nissan Micra and with the Special One under pressure he’s quickly shooting up the betting in the Premier League sack race.”
