Fake that Jose: Chelsea boss nurses his wounds as Man City make Premier League statement
Jose Mourinho was stunned by the result
JOSE MOURINHO believes Chelsea’s 3-0 thrashing by Manchester City was a "fake" result.

The defeat was Mourinho’s joint-heaviest in the Premier League, but he refused to accept it. “If the 1-0 was a doubtful result at minute 70, 75, the 3-0 is completely fake because at 1-0 Chelsea was the better team in the whole second half,” he said.
And he also defended his right to substitute John Terry at half-time, hauling off his captain for the first time in their 177 league games together, with his side trailing to Sergio Aguero’s 32nd-minute goal.
Terry was left to watch the remainder of the game from the sidelines as further goals from Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho brought Manuel Pellegrini an emphatic first Premier League victory over Mourinho and left a gap of five points between the two rivals.

Mourinho insisted he had simply wanted to bring on the pacey Kurt Zouma in order to play a higher defensive line, but admitted he could have taken off Gary Cahill rather than Terry.
“I had to decide between John or Cahill because Zouma is the fastest player we have of anyone,” said Mourinho. “When you are playing with a high block and you are asking your defensive line to play up you need your fastest player.
“I don’t know if you ask many questions to Benitez, Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo who never played him. I am the one you shouldn’t ask because I am the one who plays with John every game, made him captain and recovered him from a difficult situation with others managers.
“I am the one who has the right to look at the game and to say, ‘I want Zouma on the pitch’. I brought out my captain and he was on the bench. He still my captain because the armband is just an armband.

“I can tell you he was not dancing in the dressing room and I can tell you also he was not having a bad reaction. He did what everyone does. The manager says this player comes in and this player goes out. They wait for the team to go out and then go back to the bench like he did. Normal.”
City manager Manuel Pellegrini watched his side follow up Monday’s 3-0 win over West Brom with another convincing victory and said: “I am very satisfied because it is not easy to beat the champions.
“Chelsea were the best team and won the title last season and the first 45 minutes we deserved at least three goals.
“We conceded no chances, created at least four chances and Asmir Begovic had a great performance.”
