Angel Di Maria has joined PSG on a £44m deal |
MANCHESTER UNITED have wished Angel Di Maria "all the best for the future" after confirming his sale to Paris Saint-Germain today.
Di Maria, 27, joins PSG in a £44million switch after a long drawn-out transfer saga.
He will pocket an estimated £56.2m before tax over the duration of his four-year contract
And United released a statement on the departure of their winger, who cost them £59.7m just 12 months ago.
"Manchester United can confirm that the sale of Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain is complete," the statement read on United's official website.
"The Argentina international was signed from Real Madrid for a British record transfer fee on 26 August 2014 and made 24 starts for the Reds, coming off the bench a further eight times.
"The midfielder scored four goals in total - three times in the Barclays Premier League and a late FA Cup strike at Yeovil Town.
"After representing Argentina at the Copa America, he did not participate on Tour 2015, presented by Aon, so his final appearance for the club came against Hull City when he was injured and withdrawn in the first half.
"Di Maria is now embarking on a new challenge and the club wishes him all the best for the future."
Di Maria was fined £360,000 for failing to show on United's tour of the USA this pre-season.
He may start for PSG in their Ligue 1 opener against Lille tomorrow night.
