David De Gea is desperate to join Real Madrid |
MANCHESTER UNITED and Real Madrid have begun negotiations over the transfer of goalkeeper David De Gea.
The transfer saga surrounding the Spaniard has dominated the summer as the La Liga giants strive to bring the 24-year-old to the Bernabeu.
While United have remained resolute in their determination to hold onto last season's player of the year for the club unless their asking price of around £35million was met.
But with the transfer window closing in Spain at midnight tonight, both clubs have come to the table to conclude a deal.
Spanish publication AS say De Gea wants to leave Old Trafford and he has already agreed personal terms.
The report claims just the transfer price is holding up the deal.
Current Madrid number one Keylor Navas could still have an influence on the deal with the Costa Rican determined to stay at the club.
