Reading want to sign Nathaniel Chalobah on loan |
NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you all the latest transfer news from Stamford Bridge.
John Stones' switch from Everton to Chelsea is 'inevitable', claims Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam.
Stones has handed in a transfer request to force through a transfer to the Premier League champions.
Everton want around £40million for the player, although Chelsea are set to offer £35m just days before the transfer deadline.
And former Liverpool player Adam believes the move will go through.
“It was inevitable, if he wants it to happen, it’s the next stage,” Adam told talkSPORT.
“He’s played 50 games for Everton but you don’t get Chelsea coming to your door very often. He wants to play at the top level and in the Champions League.
“Everton’s a good club, with great fans and Bill [Kenwright] has done a great job, but it’s an impossible job not to turn Chelsea down.
“When Chelsea come for him again, it’ll probably happen within the next week.”
One deal not going through, however, is a protracted late bid for Axel Witsel.
The Blues are considered suitors of Belgium international Witsel, who wants to quite Zenit St Petersburg.
But the winger insists he is keen on playing for Juventus, who will likely make a late bid for the player.
“I don’t have any intention of renewing my contract with Zenit because I want to have an experience in Italy,” Corriere dello Sport report Witsel as telling his representatives.
Reading want to re-sign Nathaniel Chalobah on loan, according to reports.
The Chelsea youngster spent last season at the Royals and returned to Stamford Bridge this summer hoping for game time.
But the 20-year-old appears not to be in manager Jose Mourinho's plans.
And the Reading Chronicle claim the midfielder, who can also play in defence, is set to become Chelsea's 27th loan departure of the season.
