ASTON VILLA have reportedly failed to land Spanish fourth-division striker Michu in a shocking snub for manager Remi Garde - but they could land him this summer.

Villa, rock bottom of the Premier League, are in desperate need of goals.
They have scored just 18 times all season in the league and are 10 points away from safety with 15 games remaining.
The Sun claim Villa made a surprise offer to UP Langreo to bring Michu back to the Premier League.

But he turned down the approach, insisting he will only consider offers once the season is over.
“I’ve had a few offers but I want to be honest with myself in terms of my fitness so I turned it down," said the 29-year-old.
"I’m happy with my decision and will wait until summer.”

Unfortunately for Villa, the summer could be too late to save them from relegation and manager Garde could be tempted to pursue other targets on transfer deadline day, leaving Michu in the back of his plans for now.
Spaniard Michu enjoyed plenty of success during his early days at Swansea in the Premier League, only to suffer injuries that curtained his progression.
The forward was sent out to Napoli on loan in 2014 but a persistent ankle injury forced him onto the sidelines for 14 months.
