STAN COLLYMORE has called for a 'total boycott' after Aston Villa failed to make any new signings during the January transfer window.

Stan Collymore launches attack on the Aston Villa board as he defends Remi Garde

The Premier League strugglers did not land a single transfer target during the winter window, with potential deals for Seydou Doumbia, Loic Remy, Mathieu Debuchy and Wahbi Khazri falling through.
Remi Garde's side did come close to signing goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic, but their work permit application to bring him to Villa Park was rejected by the FA.
And as a result of their lack of activity in the transfer window, Collymore slammed Villa board members Tom Fox and Randy Lerner.
As the window closed shut, he said: "Tom Fox and Mr Lerner. You let the season ticket holders down today. Not even a fucker glimmer of a signing to give them a lift."

He also called for fans to boycott the club and posted skeletons on his Twitter page, which poked fun at Fox.
"Maybe #AVFC supporters will finally believe me. The club is being run by people not fit for purpose. They must be driven out. Must.
"Forget fans who fill the stands which only sees owners positions legitimised. Hardcore Villa fans need a total boycott. Total.
"I don’t blame Garde. Seems a decent, honest man. He’s been duped like the rest of us. Change, get them out or die. That’s where we are at.

"Just heard the Holte Pub is getting a new table and chair set. Can’t wait! #deadineday
"Hearing it’s a French table and chair set, from a second hand shop in Rennes. Couldn’t get our first choice set apparently."
Villa currently sit six points adrift of Sunderland at the bottom of the Premier League table and by failing to bring in any new faces they run a greater risk of being relegated to the Championship.
In light of this, Garde is said to be considering his future at the club after admitting Villa's transfer policies have changed since replacing Tim Sherwood.
"Maybe it was not as clear when I signed, but it's something that I don't want to discuss too much," said Garde.
"I understand that you cannot carry on doing the same things when you have not been as successful as you have wanted.
"The situation of a team at the bottom of the table was not easy for players but that was not the only reason.
"It was also a financial problem. As a new manager I would have expected new faces to support my changes."
