NEWCASTLE have made a new bid of £24million for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claim Mike Ashley has gone back with an improved bid after seeing a £21m offer rejected by West Brom owner Jeremy Peace.
Berahino has become one of the most sought after strikers in recent weeks, with Tottenham and Stoke also interested in signing the England international.
But Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace has held firm in his £25m valuation of the striker despite him being out of favour with Tony Pulis.
The 22-year-old has only started eight Premier League games this season and has not scored a league goal since mid-October.
The striker left West Brom training early today but the club insist he had a knock and that he's staying put.
Despite Newcastle'ss late bid, Ladbrokes believe a move to Spurs could still be on the cards after slashing the odds from 8/1 to 5/2 for him to join the north London club.
