DANIEL STURRIDGE has taken a step towards his long-awaited return for Liverpool by rejoining training for the first time in two months.
Sturridge took part in a session alongside those players who did not start Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to a Jamie Vardy-inspired Leicester City.
The forward will now be expected to train continuously for the next 10 days before he is considered for a return to action by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Sturridge has been nursing a hamstring problem since making an appearance as a substitute against Newcastle on December 6.
Philippe Coutinho, Martin Skrtel and Divock Origi are all expected to train this week as well after injury.
