Confirmed: Newcastle stunned as defender snubs Steve McClaren's advances

VALENCIA have announced the signing of Atletico Madrid full-back Guilherme Siqueira.

 



Guilherme Siqueira has joined Valencia on loan

 

The Brazilian has joined Gary Neville’s side until the end of the season after slipping behind Filipe Luis in the pecking order.

Siqueira was reportedly close to joining United as competition for current left-back Paul Dummett.

But a statement on Valencia website said: “Valencia Club de Futbol have agreed the signing of Guilherme Siqueira on loan from Atletico Madrid. The player joins the club through to June 30th, 2017.

 

“Guilherme Magdalena Siqueira (born April 28th, 1986 in Florianopolis, Brazil), is a proven left back with experience both in La Liga and abroad. 

“He arrived in Spain in 2010 from Italian side Udinese, joining Granada CF and enjoying three excellent seasons there, in which he established himself as one of the best full backs in the country.

 

“He went on to spend a season at Benfica. Siqueira’s performances in Portugal attracted the attention of Atletico Madrid, who brought him back to La Liga for the 2014/15 campaign.”
