SLAVEN BILIC remains hopeful a 'complicated' deal to bring Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike to West Ham can be completed soon.
Bilic wants to bring the Fenerbahce forward in on loan for the rest of the season at a time when Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho are still out injured.
Emenike has already been loaned out by the Turks however, to Middle East outfit Al-Ain, and although that spell has eneded it has caused complications.
He said: "We are looking to strengthen our squad in that position. We ain't gonna buy a player, definitely, but if we can loan one we will do it.
"We are still waiting. It's a complicated situation because he is a Fenerbahce player but he was on loan at Al-Ain.
"We spoke with Al-Ain and thought we could do a straight swap with them but Fenerbahce had to be involved. Now we are waiting to see if it is going to be today, tomorrow or not.
"In the beginning it looked like easy. Then one moment it didn't look really good."
Bilic is also a fan of Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz but the Turks want either a fee or Dimitri Payet as a swap and Bilic is not remotely tempted by either option - especially the latter.
He said: "Burak is a diffent situation as they are looking to sell him and we are not buying now."
Bilic is also hopeful that a knee injury to Carl Jenkinson will not end the defender's season-long loan from Arsenal prematurely. Jenkinson was due to see a specialist later today.
Bilic said: "We will have to see, hasn't seen the specialist so we are waiting for those results. He was rally unlucky. We are still hoping it's not that bad."
Carroll and Sakho are closing in on returns but neither will feature in the FA Cup at Liverpool on Saturday.
New signing Sam Byram also misses out as he is cup-tied and midfielder Mark Noble is a doubt because of illness
