WATFORD boss Quique Flores has taken a pop at Emmanuel Adebayor by claiming all his players know everything about the club - including the town’s population!
The ex-Tottenham striker opted against a move to the Hornets, instead joining Crystal Palace.
And he then amazed fans by claiming he had to turn to Google to find out about the Eagles.
Now Flores has claimed missing out on Adebayor is no great loss.
He said: “The player decided where he wanted to play. He did not find enough reasons to come here.
“I’m not disappointed as we want players to come here for Watford. It’s an amazing place to play.
“Our players are very clever and want to come here. If they want to come to Watford they know everything about Watford, the area, the players, the squad.
“If they decide to come to Watford they know everything.
“They know perfectly well about Watford, how many people live in Watford, how many people go to the stadium, our position, everything. They know Watford are expanding.”
One player Watford have signed is midfielder Mario Suarez from Fiorentina for £4 million.
And Flores said: “Suarez plays really well, he has a very good sense of play.
“He can play as an 8, a 6, can be an attacking midfielder. He’s experienced and very clever.
“If Suarez can play to his level it will be amazing for Watford.”
Flores also hopes to add another striker in the remaining days of the transfer window.
