Jorge Sampaoli has told Chelsea he will be their new manager if they sign Alexis Sanchez, according to shock reports.

Spanish sports magazine Don Balon claim Chile boss Sampaoli has tad Blues owner Roman Abramovich he is keen on taking over in the summer - on the condition Arsenal star Sanchez joins him.

Sampaoli is also a target for Italian outfit Roma as he looks to quit Chile.

"In this environment I don't want to work, or even live, in the country anymore," he said.
 
Liverpool have made a surprise approach for QPR defender Steven Caulker.

Caulker has spent this season so far on loan at Southampton.

Diego Simeone apparently turned down the Manchester United job
 
Diego Simeone was reportedly offered the Manchester United manager's job before Louis van Gaal.

Italian super agent Vincenzo Morabito claims United failed to land the Atletico Madrid boss after sacking David Moyes in 2014.

"In the spring of 2014, United contacted me – they had chosen Simeone to take over from Moyes," he said.

"United made an offer, which required a response within 10 days. Diego said no."
