DANNY WELBECK has been spotted for the first time training with his Arsenal team-mates after nine months out with a knee injury.
The England striker looked delighted to be back with his team-mates as they prepared for their FA Cup tie with Burnley tomorrow.
Welbeck has not played for the Gunners since April after undergoing surgery in September.
Manager Arsene Wenger is happy to have 25-year-old back but warned he will need an under-21's match before being considered for the first team.
He said: "It has to be gradual, and he has to go through under-21 games.
"Danny has not played since April and we are now in February so that is very long for a top-level competitor.
"That means you have to accept that he goes through small steps and one of them is to play in the under-21s for the first 45 minutes.
"He is basically fit but now he has to absorb the competition, the intensity of the competition, and that becomes the next step for him."
