SOUTHAMPTON chairman Ralph Krueger has refused to rule out the possibility of exits at the St Mary's amid rumours of a shock move to Liverpool for Shane Long.

Shane Long is a surprise target for Liverpool

The Saints confirmed today the £4million swoop for Charlie Austin from QPR on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
While reports this morning suggested Liverpool were eyeing a £8m move for Long, who has eight goals in 19 appearances this season.

And Krueger was coy on the chances of incomings and outgoings within the Saints squad in January.
He said: “I think that players coming in and out here in the last two weeks is not in the plan.

“I would never say never on either direction because it’s the nature of the sport, you don’t know what opportunities present themselves.
“At the moment we are pleased with the depth and Ronald has shown that we have different looks and even I, with my limited football experience, understand we have different line-ups and looks and it’s difficult to prepare against us.
“Ideal would be to keep all those names in the line-up.”
