NAPOLI are plotting a January move to sign Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to reports.
The 26-year-old France international was linked with a move away from Steve McClaren's side in the summer with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all interested.
But Newcastle were unwilling to offload their talisman after reportedly knocking back bids for his services.
However, according to Sky Sports Italia, Serie A side Napoli have turned to Sissoko after suffering setbacks in their pursuit of Bayern Leverkusen's Christoph Kramer and Porto's Hector Herrera.
In order to secure his services it would cost Napoli a reported £12million.
Sissoko has stated that he wants to be playing in the Champions League and a move to Napoli could perhaps fulfil this ambition, with the club currently sitting top of the league table and on their way to securing a spot in Europe's elite competition for next season.
Sissoko joined the Magpies from Toulouse in 2013 and has made 20 Premier League appearances so far this season - racking up five assists.
Napoli have also made an enquiry for midfielder Giannelli Imbula.
