WEST HAM have pulled out of the race to sign QPR striker Charlie Austin.
Charlie Austin has scored 10 goals in 16 Championship appearances for QPR this term |
The East Londoners were keen to snap up the 26-year-old in the summer.
But now boss Slaven Bilic is happy with his squad and will not be making a bid this month.
He said: “He’s linked with most of the clubs when they got relegated.
“We were among those clubs in the summer but we have chosen other options. We’re not looking at that option.”
West Ham are unlikely to make any more signings at all as Bilic gets ready for Tuesday night's away trip to Bournemouth.
He said: “I’ve said then and will say again now that only if something exceptional happens we will sign anyone. We might sign, long term or loan we need to see.
“Bournemouth are a side that have a long time together, they have the same manager and a good couple of players they needed.
“They are playing good football, they don’t have that negative pressure. They are enjoying it.
“Every player is positive and looking forward to it. They are very well organised and hard to beat. We are very well aware of what to expect and how we have to play.”
