SLAVEN BILIC expects Andy Carroll to maintain his good form after the striker scored for a second successive game for West Ham.
Carroll headed home the Hammers’ second after Michail Antonio had opened the scoring during their 2-0 victory over Liverpool today.
It was only Carroll’s third goal of an injury-plagued season which has led to reports that he may be sold in January.
But manager Bilic dismissed that suggestion and confirmed he will stick by Carroll so long as the former Liverpool and Newcastle forward maintains his fitness.
“(Carroll) was brilliant today in everything, in kicking the ball, flicking the ball, holding the ball,” Bilic told the BBC.
“He was dangerous in the box, pressing them. It was a great performance. The goal was the cherry on the pie.
“He has to maintain this kind of shape because only like that is he going to be a big asset to West Ham.
“I am expecting that from him because he would be more than stupid not to commit himself to maintain this kind of form.”
West Ham’s result sees them move up to fifth in the Premier League, while Liverpool could drop as low as 11th in Stoke and Watford win today.
