SCHALKE are targeting a move for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, according to reports.

Schalke plan swoop for star Manchester United defender
Marcos Rojo is currently sidelined with a reoccurring dislocated shoulder

Rojo, who joined the Red Devils from Sporting Lisbon for £16million in the summer of 2014, has struggled to establish himself as first-choice at Old Trafford after suffering a number of injuries.
He is currently sidelined with a reoccurring dislocated shoulder, and joined United's fans in the away end at Anfield on Sunday to watch the 1-0 victory against Liverpool.
The Argentinian has already been linked with a move away from United this month, with Real Madrid reportedly keen to bring him to the Bernabeu as cover for Marcelo.

And German newspaper Bild claim Schalke have now joined the race for Rojo, and have named him one of the club's main transfer targets.
The German side are looking for a replacement for their injured captain Benedikt Howedes, who is facing a three-month spell on the sidelines.
Head coach Andre Breitenreiter believes Rojo is the perfect candidate to replace Howedes, and the Schalke boss has not been put off of a move by the 25-year-old's injuries.
But if the Bundesliga side are unsuccessful in their pursuit of the Argentine, they will switch their attention to Dynamo Kiev's Aleksandar Dragovic, who has also been linked with a move to United
