REAL MADRID are reportedly bracing themselves for the possible departure of Cristiano Ronaldo by fixing their sights on Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
Kane was sounded out as a Manchester United target over the summer, but Spurs ignored the interest from their Premier League rivals.
After a slow start to the campaign, Kane's form has picked up and he has 13 goals to his name in all competitions.
Real in the meantime are in the throes of a major shake-up, and with Zinedine Zidane replacing Rafa Benitez as head coach this week, a number of galacticos could be offloaded in the summer.
The Daily Telegraph claim Kane, who has been followed by Real for the last year, is seen as the ideal player to kick off their rebuilding programme.
Kane, the report suggests, is in line for a new deal at Spurs, and if signed, could see him surpass Hugo Lloris, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela as the club's top earner.
It is also thought Real could sign Kane as they have a good working relationship with Tottenham, having nabbed Luka Modric and Gareth Bale in recent years.
Real are also targeting a summer deal for Chelsea star Eden Hazard, however it is thought Manchester United are plotting a £65million bid.
The Daily Star claim United want Hazard to rejuvenate their flailing side and help challenge for silverware again.
