SOUTHAMPTON boss Ronald Koeman has admitted he wants Guus Hiddink to recommend him as the next manager of Chelsea.
Hiddink was appointed interim Blues manager until the end of the season after Roman Abramovich sacked Jose Mourinho in December.
But he is not expected to stay on beyond the current campaign despite being unbeaten in six games in all competitions.
Pep Guardiola, Diego Simeone and Massimiliano Allegri have all be linked with the managerial position at Stamford Birdge.
But Koeman has now thrown his hat into the ring by openly speaking of his desire to be considered for the permanent position at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to Dutch radio station 538, the Saints boss said, "If Guus puts a good word in for me, that would be a big influence."
"It is certainly something that I always have at the back of my mind.
"I always want to achieve the highest possible level. That has happened in Holland and that's what I'd really like to achieve abroad."
The Dutchman has previously coached Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona, before moving to Southampton in the summer of 2014.
