LAURENT BLANC is pressuring the French Football Federation to alter Paris Saint-Germain's fixture schedule in the lead-up to their Champions League clash with Chelsea next month.
Laurent Blanc is already looking ahead to PSG's clash with Chelsea |
PSG host the Blues at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their last-16 clash on 16 February.
But they face the prospect of three games in 13 days before that clash.
Runaway Ligue 1 leaders PSG start February by hosting Lorient before a trip to rivals Marseille and then a home tie with Lille.
They also play Stade Reims, Lyon and Montpellier before the reverse tie with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 9 March.
And Blanc wants the French authorities to postpone some of PSG's fixtures to give them a better chance against England's defending champions.
"One way to solve the problem would be to get knocked out of the Cup competitions, but Paris Saint-Germain can't think that way," Blanc said.
"But I hope that the week before (the Chelsea) game will be rearranged."
PSG are seeking a first Champions League triumph in their history, having crashed out at the quarter-final stage in each of their last three seasons.
They beat Chelsea 3-3 on away goals at this stage last season and also played them in the last-eight in 2013/14, when the Blues edged the two-legged tie on away goals.
