MANCHESTER CITY boss Manuel Pellegrini will consider joining Chelsea if he is replaced by Pep Guardiola in the summer.
Guardiola revealed earlier this month that his next job will be in England after already agreeing to leave Bayern Munich at the end of this season.
The Spaniard has also been linked with Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester United, but City are favourites for his signature.
And Spanish football expert Guillem Balague claims Pellegrini will consider taking over from Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge.
Hiddink is only contracted at the Premier League champions until the end of the campaign after taking over from the sacked Jose Mourinho last month.
Balague tweeted: "So when Pellegrini gets told about Pep (and he cannot be told because Pep HAS NOT SIGNED ANYTHING YET) he'll consider offers. Including Chelsea."
Pellegrini would be faced with a difficult task if he decides to take the reigns at Chelsea, who are in danger of missing out on next season's Champions League as they sit 14th in the table.
Guardiola claims he has already been approached by English clubs, but admits he won't make up his mind until the summer.
"I have an opportunity to work in England," he said. "I think I'm at the right age and I feel it is the right move for me."
"I have offers from England, but I have not signed a contract yet. I can't say more right now. I have not signed a contract yet."
