NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you all the latest transfer news coming from Old Trafford.
Preston manager Simon Grayson has confirmed the Championship club are in talks with Manchester United to extend Sam Johnstone’s loan deal.
“This (Brentford) could be his last game. However, we are in dialogue with Manchester United all the time,” said Grayson.
“We are trying to get some decisions and answers but as you can imagine when you are dealing with big clubs, they have more pressing things.”
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are reportedly ready to step up their interest in Everton centre-half John Stones.
That is according to the Manchester Evening News, who claim United are prepared to spend £45million to land the former Barnsley defender.
Louis van Gaal, whose scouts have been following the 21-year-old all season, revealed earlier today he hopes to improve his defence before the January window closes.
And finally, the agent of United target Robert Lewandowski has refused to confirm whether the Poland striker will still be at Bayern Munich next season.
Cezary Kucharski said: “We’re very happy at Bayern Munich. We’ll see what happens in the future, but I cannot tell you any more.
“I don’t think Bayern want to sell him and I don’t want to talk about his price. In football, you can never know what will happen.”
