Man Utd star doubt for Liverpool clash with medial collateral ligament damage
Bastian Schweinsteiger has reportedly damaged his medial collateral ligament

The Manchester United midfielder appeared to suffer a severe injury towards the end of the 1-0 FA Cup win over Sheffield United last Saturday.
It looked as though he would be leaving the field on a stretcher, but the 31-year-old soldiered on until the end of the game.

Louis van Gaal speculated that it could be knee damage and predicted he would miss the Newcastle game tonight (7.45pm).
"It shall be difficult of course [for Schweinsteiger to face Newcastle]," he said.

"I don't know yet but I think he has a knee problem - everyone thinks he has an ankle problem but I think it's more the knee - we'll have to wait and see."

It's claimed the results of a CT scan showed no serious damage, but the sprain will keep him out of the Newcastle clash and potentially the upcoming fixture with Liverpool on January 17.
Schweinsteiger has made 17 Premier League appearances for United since joining from Bayern Munich last summer for £14million, scoring once.
